It’s Time to Fight Unemployment and #shiftyourspend

Not unlike COVID-19, unemployment affects everyone! Our families, our friends, our neighbours and ourselves. The past year has been a tough time for small businesses, and we can all agree as a small town that supporting locals is extremely important.

This being said, we are happy to announce that the Bayfield and Area Chamber of Commerce (B.A.C.C) has partnered with Fight Unemployment to better support our chamber members and help their businesses thrive.

With initiatives like the 10% challenge (#shiftyourspend), an initiative that encourages individuals to spend 10% more of every dollar into local institutions and a FREE program sponsored by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario in partnership with Community Futures Huron that analyzes a business's sales and benchmarks available to Chamber members, the B.A.C.C is putting forward a clear call to action.

This relationship is more than your typical "shop small" campaign. Along with Fight Unemplyment, the B.A.C.C aims to empower businesses with the knowledge for success while also encourage individuals to shop small in their community by equipping them with information on the economic impact by doing so.
