Bayfield Artist Guild
Children’s Art Pop Ups Celebrating
Bayfield 150
The Bayfield Artist Guild would like to highlight
“We Love Where We Live” by providing four Kids Art Pop Up activities over the course of the Bayfield 150 Summer celebrations. These free activities will give kids the opportunity to learn some cool facts about Bayfield through art.
In conjunction with the BAG Art Show and Sale on June 7 in Clan Gregor Square from 12-4 pm, Children and Teens ages 5-16 are invited to create a suncatcher, celebrating Bayfield’s world renown sunsets.
In preparation for the Fall Fair, children will be given the opportunity to create a piece of art, in keeping to the theme “Apple Pies and Harvest Skies” at the Library on August 8 from 10:30 to 2pm. Work can be submitted as an entry in the Fair August 14-16.
BAG members will also be present this year at the Fair, providing children a hand-on exploration with arts and crafts.
The last Children’s Art Pop Up will take place at Pioneer Park on September 5 from 10:30 to 2 pm. Here young art enthusiasts can view the famous Purple Martin bird houses at the pier, and visit with the Blue Parrot aloft the rudder of The Malta. Children ages 5-8 can paint birdhouses, whilst the older children can create some 3D driftwood bird friends, turn driftwood into imaginary magic wands or create a woven art sculpture using materials from the shores of Lake Huron.
Please note that parental guidance in all the above activities would be appreciated. Supplies are limited.
This project couldn’t be possible without the partnership and support of the Bayfield Lion’s.
